Lake lot fees in limbo – Sun, 26 Jul 2009 PST (The Spokesman-Review)
BOISE – When owners of hundreds of cabins on Idaho state land at Priest Lake submit their applications to renew their leases next year, each will have to pay a $250 fee – up from $10. But that doesn’t have the owners upset, because it’s small potatoes compared with the bigger issue: How much Idaho will charge for rent on the land under their cabins. read more…

Resolved Question: Why do I need a license to fish?
I don’t fish a lot. I like to go like once very 5-6 months. I lost my job a month ago and was already stressed over money. I wanted to just have some cheap fun and relax.. Next thing I know some armed loser on a power trip is writing me a ticket and giving me his brainwashed robot speech. Asking where I work, how often I fish, what I do for a living, etc etc. Call me simple but I don’t really understand how anyone thinks it makes sense that I can’t walk down the street to a lake that God made, on a piece of land that God made for everyone, to catch fish that God created for me to eat, without having to give money to the government. I’m sure a lot of little brainwashed idiots will chime in here calling me a criminal, and evil and whatever other nonsense they’ve been brainwashed to believe.
Point blank, I want to be able to stand on the shore of lake and catch fish which I throw back anyway, without having to fill out paperwork, or be forcefully relieved of my hard earned cash during a recession. I try real hard to keep faith in America and the government and the police, but it is basically impossible anymore. Soon they will charge me for air and a few million brainwashed loudmouths will be calling me a terrorist and demanding I be locked up for not wanting to pay.
I guess my question is for someone to explain to me in a logical and reasonable way, any justification for why I should have to pay money and get a license to fish.
Capilano. I appreciate your response. And it was better than “oh yeh well you don’t like the laws why don’t you git out of ar cuntry”.
I don’t know how much the ticket is yet I just got it today. I have to drive out to court an hour away from me. It is gonna be between $25-500 dollars. I guess like everything in life there are people who are greedy and take more than their share and ruin it for everyone else. From my perspective though I am not a serious fisherman and just wanted to go and relax for the day and I have some jackass with a gun bothering me and asking me questions that are none of his business. In perspective the government only owns the land because they murdered everyone that lived there at one point and then put a parking lot, sign and armed jackasses there.
I don’t regret not buying a license because I still feel it’s ridiculous I should have to. I am never going to buy one and I am not paying this ticket if it’s over $25 dollars.
I enjoyed fishing, I could have seen it becoming a hobby of mine, if I got more into it and did it regularly perhaps I would have bought a license. I grew up in the city and I have a feeling I may have seemed out of place there and that may have been the reason I was the person they chose to approach and ask for a license. I don’t know anyone who fishes and legitimately had no idea I would need a license to fish in a small lake around the corner from my house. It would never even cross my mind that someone would make me pay to do something so simple and natural that people have done for free since the beginning of time. But I guesss you have to pay for everything now. Eventually they’ll charge for air and redlemon will go around telling everyone to leave the country who doesn’t like it.

Resolved Question: Will Øbama make this our new national anthem?
In the Barack Candy Mountains, there’s a land that’s bright and fair,
For the donuts grow on bushes, and there’s lots of cookies there,
For the dogs and cats are happy, and the sun shines every day,
There are birds and bees, and the bubble-gum trees,
by the lemonade springs, where the whippoorwill sings
in the Barack Candy Mountains.
In the Barack Candy Mountains, the houses are built of blocks
And the little streams of sody pop come trickling down the rocks,
The soldiers there are made of lead, and they are very brave,
There’s a lake of stew, and ice cream too
You can paddle all around in a paper canoe,
In the Barack Candy Mountains.
In the Barack Candy Mountains, the frogs have wooden legs
And the bulldogs all have rubber teeth,
and the hens lay hard boiled eggs
There’s chocolate pie in all the trees, and jam in all the lakes,
Oh, I’m going to go where the wind don’t blow,
there’s a big free show, and candy snow,
In the Barack Candy Mountains

Resolved Question: Should i move my horse?
i am thinking about moving my horse (kept in pasture boarding) because of feeding situations and the condition of the field.
right now, we board our 10 year old gelding, who i share with my sister, on about 10 acres of land with 5 other horses. the land has a steep incline leading up to a flatter area at the top. the field is surrounded by a forested area. at the bottom of the hill there is a creek and an area for a round bale. the woman who owns the property feeds one round bale per day and does not seed the acreage so there is not a lot of grass. she does not feed grain in the summer, but she does in the winter. in the winter, the bottom area by the round bale is very muddy.
at the place where we board our horse, there is also stall boarding. there is an indoor arena, shower area, and a large outdoor arena which cannot be used because it has poor drainage and it is filled with weeds. my sister and i take lessons with our horse with an instructor who is leaving the stable at the end of july. there are also trails that go through the woods, but they are no longer available for use by borders.
it is $170 per month to board here.
the place that we are thinking about moving our horse to has 100 acres, all covered in grass. there are 30 horses there. there are trails, but no arena. there is a riding instructor there.
if we moved our horse there, because it is cheaper, we might be able to get another horse so both my sister and i can have one. we also could trailer our horse(s) out to a lake house that we have, because there is a grassy 1/2 acre there that we could fence in and keep them on for the weekends.
it is $90 per month to board there.
SHOULD I MOVE MY HORSE??
thank you for reading my monologue and for your help!!
